Start With One Rural Planning Question

Define the decision before opening a library. Examples include: "Which source can help us frame a livestock-support discussion after flooding?" or "Which current information can test our assumptions about crop conditions?"

The publisher pages below were read on October 26, 2026. They are starting points, not a ranked collection. Check the exact document, report or dataset for its date, geography, method, access and reuse terms.

Fictional Example

The fictional Riverbend Relief Network is considering support for livestock keepers after floods. Its question is whether a livestock intervention should enter a first planning discussion. The program officer selects the LEGS handbook page, records the edition linked there, and notes that it covers assessment and design of livestock interventions in crises. The note also says that the page does not establish current animal-health conditions, market access or what households want. A local livestock officer and representatives of affected livestock keepers must review those points before the team proposes an activity. The note is reopened if new disease, market or access information appears.

Limits and Handoffs

  • Global guidance does not establish local land, water, animal-health or environmental requirements.
  • A forecast or modeled product is not a field observation. Record the period and assumptions.
  • Check the exact item's reuse terms before copying a table, map or substantial text.
  • Consequential livelihood choices need the relevant community, technical and public-authority checks.

What Changed in This Draft

Version 0.5 replaces the old catalog with a task-led selection note and a fictional planning example. It removes the dedicated evaluation collection and does not claim that a listed reference is current for every location, freely reusable or suitable for a proposed intervention.
