Editorial status: draft. Availability to read this page does not change its editorial status or establish external validation. The review scope and unverified items are stated on this page. A review date does not establish clinical, legal, security or field suitability. Check the publisher's current material and the requirements for your task.

Start With the Planning Question

Write the location, population, period and decision you are trying to inform. Then decide whether you need a situation classification, a forecast, market information, food-production information or guidance on a possible response modality.

The publisher pages below were read on October 26, 2026. Their products use different methods and periods. A source describing the situation does not choose a response, target group or transfer value.

Fictional Example

The fictional Riverbend Relief Network is deciding where to hold three local validation meetings after a poor rainy season. A planner selects the latest IPC analysis for the country and records its covered districts, analysis period, projection period and publication date. The note says the classification helps identify questions for local discussion, not households for assistance. Staff compare it with current market information and ask local partners about population movement and inaccessible areas. No transfer amount or modality is selected until responsible food-security, market and protection staff review the combined evidence.

Limits and Handoffs

  • Do not copy a phase, price or projection without its place, period, method and source.
  • Forecasts and classifications do not confirm a household's circumstances.
  • Cash, food and livelihood support have different market, protection, operational and financial checks.
  • Check the exact document or dataset terms before reuse or redistribution.

What Changed in This Draft

Version 0.5 replaces the old catalog with a question-led analysis note and a fictional example. It removes the dedicated evaluation collection and does not treat a classification, forecast or resource library as a complete response decision.
